Cleaning the cage out correctly
Cleaning out an indoor cage:
Every day clean out soiled areas to avoid smells. once a week, clean the cage out thoughrally, clean it with water and washing up liquid, with 1 cap ful of dettol. then make sure all bubbles are gone and dry the cage and refill with fresh bedding.
Cleaning out an outdoor cage:
Every day clean out soiled areas to avoid smells. once a week, clean the age out thoughrally, clean it with dettol and just use a sponge with a cap of dettol and water. but don't use too much or it will take hours to dry just a bit and it will take about 15 minutes to dry. then crefill with frsh bedding.
What bedding to use:
don't use cedar or pine shavings or sawdust, it is bad for them, use plain woodshavings, with some newspaper beneath it, about 3 centimetres deep of wood shavings.don't give them straw, as it can hurt them, give them timothy hay or meadow hay, timothy hay is better for them.
